Amy Schumer is hotly defending herself after being accused of stealing jokes from at least four other comedians.
A video that has since been deleted from Vimeo on copyright grounds compared some of Schumer’s funniest work with bits from fellow comedians Kathleen Madigan, Wendy Liebman, Tammy Pescatelli and the late Patrice O’Neal.
Schumer heard the accusations and immediately defended herself.

Schumer later elaborated on her defense on The Jim Norton Show.

“I would never, ever do that, and I never have,” she said. “I’m literally going to do a polygraph and put it on my show this season, and I promise whatever the results are, I won’t let them cut.
“I have to come up with so much material for my TV show, this movie, stand-up. And I’m so careful,” she said. “And none of these things had ever reached me.
“And I just would never do that,” she reiterated. “That would be so stupid for me to do that.”
She even offered an explanation for Pescatelli’s role in the scandal.
“Both Kathleen and Wendy know me and they don’t believe I would do that. I think this is Tammy trying to get something going,” Schumer said adding, “I think [Tammy] is upset I blocked her on Twitter a couple years ago because she was unkind to my best friend, Rachel Feinstein, and I didn’t like how she treated Rachel. I don’t think she’s got much going on; this is my guess. I think people get upset by success.”

But Liebman and Pescatelli aren’t necessarily buying it.
Schumer is hardly the first comedian to face joke-theft accusations. Dane Cook, Jay Mohr, Denis Leary, Carlos Mencia, Trevor Noah and even Robin Williams all had the finger pointed at them at some point in their careers.
