Scott Disick wants to step away from the Kardashian lifestyle (VIDEO)

It’s been a rough couple of years for Scott Disick, but the reality star says he’s ready to turn things around.

In a recent appearance on his sister-in-law Khloé Kardashian’s new talk show, Kocktails with Khloé, Disick claimed that the world has the wrong impression of him and that chasing money and celebrity no longer bring him any satisfaction or happiness.

“Everybody keeps saying, ‘Focus on work, focus on work. Make more money,'” said Disick as he sat on a couch with fellow cocktail-sipping guests Morgan Stewart, Jenna Marbles, Malika Haqq and Tyga. “I have money. The more money I have, the less happy I am. So, the only thing I’m trying to focus on is just calming down and focusing on the kids and just trying to be a good dad.”

In addition to calming down and focusing on his kids, Disick, who’s infamous for his hard-partying ways, is also eager to rehabilitate his reputation.

“I do get a little bit of the wrong impression I think,” Disick answered when Haqq asked what’s next for him. “A lot of people think that I, like, only care about money and cars and don’t realize it’s more just about insecurities and how much I care about my friends and my family.

“I’d really rather never be in a tabloid again,” he added “But, if I’m gonna be, at least it’d be about, like, this guy isn’t what everybody thinks he is.”

While we applaud Disick’s decision to turn his life around, leave behind the pursuit of fame and focus on family, we have to note that it’s an interesting choice to make the announcement on a talk show called Kocktails with Khloé that features other reality stars drinking and talking about their celeb lives.

But Tyga, who has an on-again, off-again relationship with Kardashian’s sister Kylie Jenner, was quick to jump in and defend Disick’s claims that the public has the wrong impression of him.

“First of all, he’s a great person,” Tyga said of Disick. “He’s a great father… he’s a great person.”
