One Direction‘s Louis Tomlinson is a dad and he’s already stepping up to the role.

Tomlinson became a first-time father six days ago (on Jan. 21), after baby mama and close friend Briana Jungwirth gave birth to their son, Freddie. And Tomlinson couldn’t be more proud.
Taking to Twitter and Instagram he shared a sweet black-and-white photo of himself holding his newborn close to his heart. He captioned the image with, “Meet my little lad, Freddie” — and fans are certainly thrilled to meet him.

The image has been liked more than a million times and comments on the picture include: “I’m dying look how cute his baby is,” “This is the cutest thing ever I’m crying,” “He is beatiful [sic], im [sic] going to cry in my room,” and “omg he’s beatiful [sic] congrats tommo!!!’

The newborn’s full name will be Freddie Reign Tomlinson (which is a name fit for a king), as Jungwirth shared her own image of their son, along with the caption, “1/21/16. Freddie Reign. Love of my life.”

And Tomlinson affectionately referred to his son as “Freddie Tommo” suggesting that his son will take his last name.

Tomlinson’s son may not have been planned but he looks like he is really stepping up to the plate and, one thing is for sure, baby Freddie is going to be very loved.
A mutual friend of both Tomlinson and Jungwirth told People magazine that both parents are extremely excited.
“Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer,” the friend said.
