After months of speculation and anticipation, the news is official. Netflix is reviving Gilmore Girls, the streaming service confirmed Friday. It doesn’t get much better than that, does it? I’m sure fans have never been more excited to go back to Stars Hollow. Also, how appropriate is it that the news was announced on the one-year anniversary of the Parenthood series finale? Maybe Jan. 29 should officially be dubbed “Lauren Graham Day.”

While Graham’s biggest fans work on making that happen, let’s get to the good stuff. Here are several new details about the reboot.
1. A bunch of original characters are returning
Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Keiko Agena (Lane) and Sean Gunn (Kirk) have all signed on for the new season.
2. There is a tentative title
According to TV Line, as of right now, it is titled Gilmore Girls: Seasons, which goes along with the theme of each installment representing a different season (fall, winter, spring, and summer) over the course of one calendar year.
3. It will provide closure
Per Warner Bros. Television President and Chief Content Officer Peter Roth, there will be closure for fans. “Amy [Sherman-Palladino] is now able to finish, appropriately, properly and I think with great satisfaction, the show the way it should conclude,” he said. “It’s going to be great. We’re very excited.”
4. Lauren Graham is beyond excited

As you can see above, Graham is ready to go back to Stars Hollow and revisit her beloved character. Can you blame her?

5. Other favorites are still missing
There is still no word on whether Melissa McCarthy, Liza Weil, Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, and every other Gilmore Girls character will return. Here’s hoping they all do.
6. New characters will be introduced
According to E! Online, a bunch of new faces will appear. “We’ll meet Berta and Alejandro, a Peruvian couple,” the entertainment news outlet reports. “Alejandro is both a handyman and a solid family man. Viewers will also meet Nat Compton, an incredibly miserable looking man who never smiles. Plus, there’s 13-year-old Dewey, Clementina, a Portuguese nanny, 7-year-old Tim and his 5-year-old sister Gabriela, 9-year-old Korean-American twins Stevie & Kwan and a whole bunch of hippies at a commune.”
That’s not all, because it seems “pleasant 30-something Paul, a Michael Cera type described as ‘a good boyfriend,’ the older high-end men’s magazine editor Jim, the blue-collar Dwayne, and the good-looking, eager 20-something Damon,” are all set to be part of the reboot.
7. It’s considered a miniseries
E! Online also reports that the revival is deemed a miniseries, which makes sense seeing as there will be four 90-minute episodes.
8. It begins filming very soon
Apparently, filming begins Feb. 2 in Los Angeles, TV Line reports. That said, it’s time for Gilmore Girls fans to start freaking out even more than I’m sure they already are.
Be sure to stay tuned for more Gilmore Girls revival information as it’s announced.
