Kim Richards publicly showed her love and support for ex-husband Monty Brinson during his battle with cancer, and his death has had a profound effect on her life.

Even though the couple made the decision to divorce, years before Brinson’s cancer diagnosis, the two had reportedly remained very close. And an E! News source recently revealed just how special their relationship was, adding, “Rarely can exes be friends, but they truly adored each other and were the best of friends.”
Because of how close Richards and Brinson were, she is reportedly really struggling to come to terms with her loss.
She’s having an “incredibly tough time” coping with Monty’s death, the source said, adding, “[Monty’s other ex-wife] Terri Lynn Doss is staying with her at her house in LA to lean on each other for emotional comfort. Kim’s daughter Brooke is completely devastated by the loss as well, as she was very close with her father.”

Brinson’s health rapidly deteriorated, catching everyone who knew and loved him completely off guard.
“It spread to his brain, and although he has been in the hospital for quite some time, his death was very sudden,” the source said. In fact, his turn happened all in one day.”
Brinson’s took his last breath in front of his family, and while they were able to be by his side during his final moments, his death has reportedly left them all traumatized.
“That was extremely traumatizing for Kim and her daughter,” the source explained.

Richards is in an unbearable amount of pain, but she does have support from those closest to her, including her sister, Kyle.
“Her sister Kyle [Richards] and Terri Lynn have been by her side, grieving together,” said the source.
