The photos were reportedly taken last year during a trip to St. Bart’s when the family was on holiday with Joyce Bonelli, Jen Atkin and Jen’s husband, Mike Rosenthal (who took the photos), Us Weekly reports.
In one shot, Kardashian compared herself to the iconic Marilyn Monroe (or at least suggested that she was inspired by her), as she captioned her nude picture with, “Channeling my best Marilyn Monroe.”
However, critics strongly disagree with the comparison and were quick to call Kardashian out for it.

Commenter @sophie__meredith wrote, “so, marilyn [sic] will be turning in her grave.”
And julitennant agreed, writing, “Marilyn is rolling in her grave,” while myfamilyisno.1 weighed in on the photo shoot, too, suggesting that Monroe would not be giving her stamp of approval, were she around to see these images.
They wrote, “Marilyn is classy!”
Kardashian also shared a second shot of her lying nude next to the pool — and feedback on this image was also filled with negative remarks.
“Are all these naked photos u [sic] and your sister’s doing a cry out for help,” suemoore53 asked.
Commenter catherineamollo_ wrote, “Must she expose her nude have some dignity.”
Other fans expressed their disappointment in Kardashian’s decision to share nude pictures with the world.
“And another sister bites the dust. So disappointed,” commenter jamie_boll wrote. And ima_ima_martins shared similar sentiments, writing, “Stop this naked pictures this is not you, u don’t need to be naked to be beautiful.”
Regardless of the negative feedback, it must be said that Kardashian looks great, and she’s not letting the negativity get to her. Later that day, she also took to Instagram to share some uplifting words.

She captioned the post with an emotional caption about loss and defeat. “…We must lose in order to gain. Lessons are best taught through our darkest hour. Through crying and defeat. Through sorrow and loss. All of my pain or sadness has only built my strength, soul, character and wisdom. One day, all of our trails and tribulations will add up and make perfect sense.”
