Vanderpump Rules‘ Tom Schwartz makes big mistake before engagement party

Once again, Stassi Schroeder tried to swallow her pride and mend things with her former friends on Vanderpump Rules. Even though she didn’t get to speak with Katie Maloney directly, she did get to sit down with Katie’s fiancé, Tom Schwartz. Actually, their chat went better than fans probably expected, especially on Schwartz’s end.

Not only did he act mature, but he made a lot of sense in telling Stassi why she was wrong in the past, all while defending Katie. That said, in typical Schwartz fashion, he made one minor mistake regarding his engagement party. But, before I get to that, let’s talk about how Schwartz schooled Stassi.

He didn’t sugarcoat anything with Stassi and got right to the point, which was impressive. He put all of his honest feelings out there, including calling Stassi a “pain in the ass,” a “bitch” and someone who was “ruthlessly dismissive” and “disrespectful” to Katie. Clearly, he doesn’t mess around when it comes to telling someone how he really feels. Schwartz also told Stassi that she needs “some humility and perspective” in her life, especially since her “ego got overinflated” when she basically tossed all of her friends to the side.

As expected, Stassi broke down in tears, but also somewhat owned up to her wrongdoings. Though, how truly genuine she is remains to be seen. Actually, that’s the main reason Schwartz wanted to meet with her face to face. He wanted to see what her true intentions are and if her apologies are fact or fiction.

Overall, Schwartz said pretty much everything everyone has been thinking for a long time regarding Stassi. However, that didn’t last for too long. You know, things were going really well, until he invited Stassi to his engagement party. His exact words were, “I’d love for you to come.” Oh, Schwartz, you shouldn’t have said that.

Yeah, Katie isn’t going to be happy. I mean, she’s been avoiding Stassi and ignoring all of her texts for a reason — she doesn’t want anything to do with her. Why would she want Stassi (her ex-friend who treated her horribly and walked all over her) at one of the biggest nights of her life? This is exactly what Katie feared Schwartz would do during his meeting with Stassi. She didn’t want him being his usual nice self. Well, he wasn’t, save for the end.

At least he did tell Stassi that she was “dreaming” if she thought Katie would actually sit down and talk with her. Now, whether Katie will cave and talk with Stassi remains to be seen. I really don’t expect Katie to give in that easily. If she does end up meeting with her former best friend, I’m sure Katie will be extremely cautious.

Basically, Stassi is going to have to work extra hard to get back in Katie’s good graces — and to get an invite from Katie to her engagement party. Let’s face it, Schwartz’s invite doesn’t really count.

As for Schwartz and Katie? Well, I have a feeling that so-called engagement celebration sex he’s been waiting for just got pushed even further to the side.

Vanderpump Rules airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
