Ciara is suing ex-fiancé Future for attacking her parenting skills

Ciara is done with ex-fiancé Future’s insults.

TMZ reports that Ciara is suing Future for libel and slander and requesting that he take down tweets defaming her abilities as a mother to their son, Future Zahir Wilburn. As recently as January, Future slammed Ciara on Twitter for, seemingly, having to pay child support. He tweeted, “I gotta go through lawyers to see babyfuture…the f***ery for 15k a month. I jus want babyfuture that’s all.”

TMZ reports that the suit cites interviews in which Future publicly shaded Ciara. In a July interview with The Breakfast Club, Future reacted to a paparazzi photo of Ciara’s boyfriend Russell Wilson pushing their son in a stroller, saying, “She probably set [Russell] up. You letting them catch that photo. Leave my son out of all the publicity stunts.”

Future and his son have had 19 visitations since December 2014, says TMZ. Ciara alleges that she makes sure Future sees his son, yet Future continues to publicly defame her. MTVreports that Ciara is suing for $15 million in damages in addition to all “related tweets deleted, and to prohibit him [Future] from talking about family matters and their son publicly.”

In a 2014 interview with SheKnows conducted just after the couple had split, Ciara’s mind was on her son. “With the new life element that’s happened to me with my son, I’m even more centered on my goals. I’ve got to get out there and be a very strong representation for him as a mom. I want him to look at me and say, ‘I’m proud of my mom.'” Now just think how good a mother she could be with $15 million more in her pocket.
