While Giudice would never trade the comfort of her home for the inside of the Danbury Correctional Facility, she did make some friends during the 11 months she spent behind bars.
“I didn’t sleep the last three nights. I was so anxious,” she said of her release during an interview with E! News‘ Catt Sadler. “And the last night, my closest girlfriends that I made there, they wanted to stay up with me. They’re like, ‘We’re not going to sleep.’ It was so cute. I made great friends there. I met some amazing women.”
In fact, her personal experience may help to change the misperception that everyone in prison is a terrible person — sometimes there are a lot of really good people who have just made terrible mistakes.

Speaking of her final night, which she spent with her friends, Giudice revealed how they helped her get ready for her release.
“We stayed up all night,” she revealed. “I wasn’t sure how I was going to wear my hair home. So one of my girlfriends, she straightened my hair. She wanted to make sure it was perfect. We were doing it for hours in the bathroom. A lot of the girls kept coming in to say goodbye to me, they knew I was in there. Just a lot of love and support.”
Giudice previously spoke out about how her childhood made her very tough, and she says she did not cry when it was time to leave the facility, although other women did.

“I didn’t cry, [but] a few girls were crying,” she recalled of her last night. “This one girl, she was crying a lot, like sobbing. She said to me that I was there for her from the minute she got there. She was terrified, and I just embraced her from the first minute she got there. She said, ‘I can’t do the rest of my time without you. You’ve been a great friend, and you made my time here easier.'”
Giudice’s comments make it clear that she didn’t get through prison alone, and she has a lot of women to thank for making her time behind bars more pleasant.
