Brandi Glanville is mourning the loss of her uncle Tony Glanville, who passed away of cancer this week.
She shared the sad news on Twitter, writing, “RIP my uncle Tony Glanville who just minutes ago lost his battle with cancer- love to my fam especially my 4 cousins.”

Many fans responded with their condolences, but some questioned if Glanvillewas too quick to take to social media “minutes” after her uncle’s death. “When a relative dies and the following minitues your tweeting about it. #PrioritiesOnFleek,”[sic] one user wrote. Another fan wrote a kinder nudge to spend time with loved ones: “Sorry for your loss. But maybe tweeting it within minutes of his passing was bad judgement. Go be with your family.”

It perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise that Glanville, whose job is to share emotions, dramas and everyday minutiae in front of television cameras on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, would turn to social media for comfort immediately following a loss. Being a fan, kind of like being a friend, means we have to appreciate our benefactors even when we don’t always love the content they provide. Glanville’s life can’t be all appearances on Kocktails with Khloé — sometimes she goes through real human issues and emotions. In her world, it’s only normal to share emotions with the public. Shouldn’t we support her even when it’s not exactly what we would do?

The good news is, more people than not are sending kind words Glanville’s way, and in exactly the kind of social media terms that fit the medium. From “Healing + strength 2 your family” to “prayer hands emoji,” she’ll find comfort where she needs it.
