Kanye West reacts to claims his line about Taylor Swift is ‘misogynistic’

There’s been much chatter around Kanye West‘s new song “Famous,” in which he appears to diss Taylor Swift with the lyrics, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that bitch famous.”

And there are two very different sides to this story.

According to TMZ, Swift’s rep has revealed that she did not give approval to West to use the lyrics, stating, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.'”

But West disagrees, as he recently took to Twitter to share his side of the story, starting with the tweet that suggested he never intended to “diss” Swift.

He continued that Kim Kardashian gave him her blessing on the track, and so did Swift — and she reportedly thought the line was funny.

West then revealed that “bitch” is an endearing term in hip-hop, but that the lyrics were not even his idea: Swift reportedly came up with the line herself.

No doubt that it’s a nod to when he infamously interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs in 2009.

And West has seemingly accused the media of trying to “demonize real artist[s].”

And control them.

It’s evident those close to Swift are not happy with the lyric, and her brother Austin even created a video that shows him throwing out his Yeezy trainers. But West seems adamant he had Swift’s approval for the line.

For Swift’s part, she has yet to personally comment, but fans are no doubt eagerly awaiting her response — and there have been countless tweets regarding West’s lyrics, some of which include:
