Queen Elizabeth is showing her full approval of the future queen consort, the former Kate Middleton, with her personal nod to a very important project.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is scheduled to give her first official television interview since she and Prince William sat down to discuss their engagement in 2010: She will appear as part of a two-hour documentary celebrating her grandmother-in-law’s 90th birthday.

The really cool part of that is that the queen herself personally approved of Kate’s appearance, which can mean only one thing: The top Royal has thrown her support fully behind the woman who will one day wear all her fabulous tiaras.
“The queen thinks Kate is doing a great job as a young mum and is a wonderful wife to William,” a courtier told Closer Weekly magazine.
The Queen is said to be particularly impressed with the way Kate has managed to successfully balance her life as a young mother with her responsibilities as a working Royal. In addition, it has become increasingly clear that the younger generation — including William, Prince Harry and Kate — are integral to keeping public opinion of the Royals high, and she knows the stunning brunette will cause younger viewers to tune in to the special in droves.

“She wants younger viewers in particular to learn more about her work over the best part of 70 years,” says the courtier. “To be blunt, the queen wants some of Kate’s stardust to rub off on her!”
“When Kate speaks, people listen,” the courtier told Closer. “The queen knows that she will boost ratings.”
While we think Queen Elizabeth has plenty of star power in her own right, there is much to be said about the point of Kate bringing in more viewers, if only because of the rarity of such an interview.
