Selena Gomez weighs in on Kanye West’s controversial Taylor Swift lyrics

Kanye West may have sent a message to Taylor Swift with his new song’s lyrics, but she has plenty of friends who are willing to send one right back.

In “Famous,” Kanye raps, “I feel like me and Taylor Swift might have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.” Swift has yet to personally comment on the lyrics, although many of her friends and family have come forward in her defense. The latest is fellow pop star Selena Gomez, who was asked about the controversy during an interview on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up.

As People reports, Gomez played it cool while landing squarely on Swift’s side. She said, “She’s killing it and she kind of always has been… Everybody has their own opinion. At the end of the day, you can just do what you do.”

Swift’s brother Austin had a slightly harsher reaction. In an Instagram video captioned “spring cleaning,” he throws his Yeezys in the trash. A smart move, as we all know that’s the No. 1 thing that would upset West.

Gigi Hadid, who attended West’s Yeezy Season 3 fashion show and performance, instantly tweeted out her support for the #swiftsquad. “My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty,” Hadid wrote.
