Raiola, who is now battling stage 4 brain and lung cancer, said in the tearful new interview that she’s still fighting to improve her health, keeping her family in mind all the way.

Since she was first diagnosed with throat and lung cancer last year, Raiola has undergone extensive treatment, including several surgeries. She’s been declared cancer-free twice since beginning treatment, only to have her cancer return and spread each time. According to her interview with Oz, radiation and chemotherapy have not been effective this time around, and she’s beginning a new kind of treatment aimed at strengthening her body’s immune system. Throughout the treatments and setbacks, Raiola admitted that her diagnosis has had a negative effect on her mental strength.
“Sometimes I feel I’m gonna be fine, and sometimes I just don’t think I am,” she says.
Raiola gained fame as a star on Mob Wives, which later resulted in the spinoff shows Big Ang and Miami Monkey. Raiola, who smoked cigarettes for 40 years, has said previously that she was told by doctors smoking was almost certainly the cause for her cancer. She has since quit and now speaks publicly to encourage others to drop the habit or avoid beginning to smoke in the first place.
Raiola’s interview with Oz is set to air Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
