David Bowie’s son reacts to Lady Gaga’s Grammys tribute

Filmmaker Duncan Jones, son of the late David Bowie, was clearly watching Lady Gaga‘s tribute to his father at Monday night’s Grammy Awards.

Unfortunately he wasn’t exactly forthcoming in his praise.

Following Gaga’s performance, Jones tweeted a cryptic (but not too cryptic) message on Twitter: “‘Overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused.’ Damn it! What is that word!?”

Gaga’s six-minute medley consisted of 10 Bowie songs — “Space Oddity,” “Changes,” “Ziggy Stardust,” “Suffragette City,” “Rebel Rebel,” “Fashion,” “Fame,” “Under Pressure,” “Let’s Dance” and “Heroes” — and was directed by Nile Rodgers, who joined Gaga on stage during the performance. Highlights of the predictably weird and wonderful tribute included robots, holograms and an enormous spider crawling over Gaga’s face.

In case there was any doubt about her devotion to Bowie, Gaga also had a large tattoo of the singer’s face inked onto her body the night before the Grammys.

Bowie passed away from cancer last month (Jan. 10), two days after his 69th birthday and the release of his final, much-anticipated album Blackstar.

Jones recently revealed that Bowie was set to become a grandfather, announcing that his wife is expecting their first child in June.
