Vanessa Hudgens, Austin Butler’s celebration of their love backfires

by

Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend Austin Butler are in love, and they decided to celebrate their love by carving their names into a rock — something that many couples tend to do. However, their actions have backfired horribly and have landed them in a spot of legal trouble.

The couple’s recent romantic trip has sparked an investigation after they carved their names into a heart in a rock near the Coconino National Forest, in Sedona, Arizona, TMZ reports. There is reportedly a federal law that prohibits anyone from “damaging natural surfaces or property of the United States.” And the rock fits the bill.

Hudgens posted the picture to her Instagram account, but it has since been deleted. There are, however, several other images from their trip.

No charges have been filed against Hudgens or Butler, but it is an ongoing investigation, and if found guilty, they could face either a $5,000 fine or a maximum of six months behind bars — although the latter is extremely unlikely.

This was most probably not the reaction the couple were hoping for when they decided to carve their names into a rock, but you live, and you learn.
