Gwen Stefani stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to tease her upcoming album and ended up talking about — what else — boyfriend Blake Shelton.
Fans have speculated that Stefani’s new single “Make Me Like You” is about boyfriend Blake Shelton.
“That neon sign that said ‘Blake’s’, was that for Blake Lively or Blake Griffin?” joked Kimmel before hitting Stefani with the real question. “That song is about Blake Shelton?”
She laughed before answering, “It is, actually. I will admit that that song is about that guy, yeah.”
This Is What the Truth Feels Like won’t be all sunshine and new love, Stefani shares. She hints that she also channeled the pain of her divorce from Gavin Rossdale into the new album. She tells Kimmel, “Sometimes tragedy, if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful, and this whole album is about trying to take something awful and just healing from it and turn it into something beautiful.”

Kimmel and Stefani also discussed her Grammys performance, in which Stefani filmed the first-ever live music video, complete with set and costume changes.
“I can’t believe that happened… that was a trip,” Stefani said. “They’d been talking about it since Christmas, planning it. Every little detail counts, there are hundreds of people working there. I personally worked on it probably six days… from seven in the morning to three in the morning.”
