Richards, who recently left RHOBH, is appearing alongside her youngest daughter, Kimberly Jackson, on Lifetime’s upcoming series The Mother/Daughter Experiment. In a new promo video for the show, Richards reveals how her life in the spotlight might have affected Jackson.
“It’s been a roller-coaster ride,” Richards admits. “Being part of the Housewives has been an experience. It really hurt me because I was struggling with certain things.”
Richards was arrested multiple times last year for public intoxication and shoplifting. She’s since been publicly battling addiction. In a separate interview, Jackson explains how her mom’s problems have impacted their relationship.

“I feel like I’m her caretaker because she’s fragile physically and emotionally,” Jackson admits. “And it does overwhelm me.”
Richards grows teary-eyed watching her daughter’s admission, and says, “I need to remember how my decisions do affect Kimberly.”
In the promo, Richards and Jackson sit together to watch footage from their interviews, where Jackson says all the hate that’s been leveled at her reality TV star mom has “affected her a lot, and I feel like somebody needs to protect her.”
In another separate interview, Richards admits that she feels like being on RHOBH has made her a less effective mother.
“I did the best that I could, so to let my kids down in any way, it’s devastating,” she says.
Despite Richards’ time in the public eye, even during her recovery throughout the last year, she also hints at more drama the world has yet to discover.
“There is something that’s going on at home that has nothing [to do with this],” she admits. “There’s other things.”
