For The Real Housewives of New York star LuAnn de Lesseps, marriage is right around the corner.
Just 74 days after they met, her now-fiancé Thomas D’Agostino popped the question with an 8-carat yellow diamond. The proposal happened Feb. 5 instead of on Valentine’s Day like he had planned, but according to de Lesseps, there was a good reason for that.
“He couldn’t wait!” she exclaimed to Us Weekly in a new interview. “He proposed… right in front of our fireplace with a bottle of champagne. He got down on his knees and pulled the ring out of his pocket like a kid and proposed.”

De Lesseps was visibly excited during the interview, where she also dished on plans for her upcoming wedding. They haven’t yet locked down a location, she revealed, but they’re looking at Palm Beach, Florida, and de Lesseps has plans to make it the party of the year, even though it’s happening on New Year’s Eve.
“I want a big wedding,” she said. “I eloped the first time. This is my only wedding. We want to get married in church with priests and do the whole nine yards.”
Quick engagements are nothing new for de Lesseps — she was engaged to her first husband five days after they met, and married two weeks later. Even though that marriage didn’t work out, she still has nothing but fond feelings for her ex, even as she moves forward with D’Agostino.
“I found my match,” she dished. “It’s so rare. I’m lucky I found it a first time, let alone a second time.”
