Real Housewives pushes reality TV to the extreme with vaginoplasty storyline

Rumors are already swirling about the plastic surgery procedure that one cast member could undergo next season on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, says The Sun.

The tabloid calls it a designer vagina, but the technical name is vaginoplasty, a tightening of the vaginal wall especially popular among women who have given birth. All six of the cast members on RHOC are mothers, as The Sun reports, so speculation is rampant about who may get the procedure — and if she’ll get it on film.

If The Sun‘s source is correct, Bravo producers have been looking into the logistics of filming such a sensitive procedure and showing it on screen. We have been in touch with some experts who offer this procedure and have asked them if in theory this could be a treatment we could film on the program,” says the source.

The source continued, “It could well cause a lot of controversy but to be fair, this kind of cosmetic surgery isn’t uncommon in the circles that the girls in the series move.” Recently, UK singer Sinitta live-streamed video of a woman getting a vaginoplasty, saying, “Power to her. I don’t think it’s painful.”

The designer nickname for a vaginoplasty comes from its hefty price tag. According to plastic surgery review website RealSelf.com, the average price of the procedure is $5,200. For RHOC producers, the cost could be worth its weight in gold if viewers tune in to watch a housewife go under the knife on-camera.
