Just days after settling a custody battle with her ex-fiancé Levi Johnston, to whom a judge granted joint custody of their son Tripp, court documents reveal Palin is headed for a second custody battle, this time over her newborn daughter Sailor Grace.
Palin has never publicly named the father of the little girl, but there’s been wide speculation that it’s former Marine Dakota Meyer. Palin and Meyer broke off their engagement just weeks before the announcement that Palin was expecting a second child, and Meyer has tweeted photos of the little girl’s first moments in the hospital, something many have taken as tacit confirmation that he’s her father.

In court documents first posted by the Daily Mail, Palin “admit[s] that Meyer is the biological father of the minor child, and that paternity has been established via DNA testing dated February 10, 2015 at 99.9957% certainty.”
According to the documents, Meyer has filed for joint legal and physical custody of Sailor. The documents also say that while Palin is accommodating Meyer’s requests to visit the little girl, joint custody is not practicable, as Meyer lives in Kentucky and Palin lives in Alaska. People magazine reports that Meyer has filed an emergency motion to be able to see Sailor as the legal proceedings continue.
Palin hasn’t commented on the second custody case, but did take to Instagram to share a photo of Sailor, along with the caption, “looks exactly like her daddy!’
