Eileen Davidson’s divorce docs reveal some frightening drama

Eileen Davidson’s life looks pretty fabulous now on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but things were not always so perfect.

The Young and the Restless star Davidson was only married to her first husband, actor Christopher Mayer, for six months back in the ‘80s, but their divorce stretched out for a year — and it was very, very messy.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the pair had restraining orders placed on each other by the court.

“Eileen Davidson and George Christopher Mayer are ordered restrained and enjoined from annoying, molesting, or harassing each other directly or indirectly in person, by mail, telephone, at either of their respective residences, places of employment or any other place,” the divorce judgement reads.

While the paperwork does not go into detail about what happened specifically to cause the clause to be put in place, it is a rather unusual move — for example, the proviso did not appear in documentation in her divorce from second husband Jon Lindstrom.

Davidson recently revealed that she is a domestic abuse survivor, although she did not state that Mayer was her abuser.

“I’ve been very blessed in my life. I’m a wife, a mother, stepmother, actress, author, and many other things. But these aren’t the only labels that define me. I’m also a physical abuse survivor,” she wrote in her Bravo blog last month.

“I consider myself a strong woman. I’ve played strong female characters throughout my acting career. I think most people who know me would describe me that way. Being ‘strong’ doesn’t mean you can’t find yourself in an abusive relationship. It can happen to anyone. I know, because I’ve been in two of them; once when I was a teenager, and again in my 20s. I know what it means to be in a place where your self-esteem is so low that you believe, maybe even subconsciously, that you deserve to be mistreated.”

Mayer was an actor who appeared on The Dukes of Hazzard, the soap opera Santa Barbara and in the flick Liar Liar with Jim Carrey. He was married three times — Davidson was his second wife — and was engaged again at the time of his death from natural causes in 2011. His final acting credit was a single episode of 18 Wheels of Justice in 2000.

Davidson is currently married to actor and former pro tennis player Vincent Van Patten.
