Tina Fey tells ‘white lady story’ in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (EXCLUSIVE)

Tina Fey gets hilariously called out for her “white lady-ness” in the new film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Take a look at our exclusive clip. 

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is based on the book The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan by author Kim Baker. Subtly political, this story of a war journalist reveals the ups and downs of women reporting in the Middle East.

Tina Fey plays journalist Kim Baker, who’s on a mission to report on the conflict in Afghanistan but is shocked to learn there’s a circus going on behind the scenes. She discovers that while the correspondents are focused on the brutal reality of war during the day, by night, they are hedonistically partying and hooking up like it was the summer of ’69.

Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) plays the seasoned, ex-patriot journalist, Tanya Vanderpoel, who takes Kim under her wing. Tanya even explains the “4-10-4” rule to her: If someone rates as a “4” on the hotness scale in the United States, they instantly become a “10” in Afghanistan, only to go back to being a “4” again when they return home.

Lebanese journalist Shakira Khar, played by the stellar Sheila Vand, struggles to understand why a woman from America would be interested in putting her life in danger by entering a war zone when she could report on much less dangerous topics at home. In this exclusive clip, she gets her answer.

We’re thrilled to see Vand headlining in Whiskey Tango Foxtot and holding her own opposite such big stars as Fey and Robbie. Vand recently starred in the striking film A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, where she played a vampire in an Iranian ghost town.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot also stars Martin Freeman, Alfred Molina and Billy Bob Thornton. It opens in theaters March 4.
