Celebrities have been vocal about their support for Kesha following a recent judgment that denied her a release from the contract with her alleged abuser, Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, and now Kelly Clarkson is opening up about her own experience with the producer.

Speaking during an interview on KIIS 1065’s Kyle & Jackie O Breakfast Show, via Hollywood Life, Clarkson revealed that she’s not a fan of Dr. Luke.
“I get along with everyone I work with, and he’s just not a good guy to me,” she said on the show. “Obviously, he’s a talented dude, but he’s just lied a lot.”

“I’ve run into a couple of really bad situations like, musically it’s been really hard for me because he will just lie to people,” she continued. “And it makes the artist look bad, and he’s kind of difficult to work with, kind of demeaning. It’s just kind of unfortunate.”
Clarkson then went one step further, explaining that the last time she worked with Dr. Luke was only because she was blackmailed into doing so, she said.

“Even the last time I worked with him, I only worked with him because literally I got blackmailed by my label,” she said. “They were like, ‘They will not put your album out if you don’t do this.'”

Clarkson also weighed in on Kesha’s lawsuit and shared her feelings about the case.
“I think her fans are wanting a lot of artists that have worked with him that don’t work with him anymore for pretty good, solid reasons,” she said. “He’s just not a good person to me. We’ve clashed. But I can’t really say anything other than that. I wasn’t there, and I don’t know specifically what happened in their situation.
“Obviously, I wasn’t in the room. But I can remark on his character, and unfortunately, when you have that poor of character, so many artists don’t like working with you, and that’s not normal.”
Clarkson was also quick to clarify that she had not been in the same situation as Kesha and that Dr. Luke “never did anything like that [alleged sexual assault] to me.”
