If you follow Miley Cyrus on Instagram, you know the former teen queen likes to do everything she can to distance herself from those squeaky-clean Disney roots.
If she’s not posing topless, she’s getting high in a selfie — or just talking about smoking — so it’s a surprise when Cyrus is able to shock her typically devout fans.

This weekend, she managed to turn some heads with a photo of Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin, who has spoken openly about her meth addiction and recovery. Presumably intended to embody the same abstract, lightly humorous tone as the rest of Cyrus’ social media presence, the photo shows Sweetin in what seems like party mode, on the lap of a blurred-out man, blowing a kiss to camera.

Cyrus’ fans are not pleased. She’s gotten comments like, “Seriously effed up to post this…. Anything to get attention I suppose Miley” and “…Maybe you felt this was a joke, or funny in some way. I don’t. She is now a different person, and it’s not ok to drag someone for their past.”

Speaking to E! Online, Sweetin said that she’s shrugged off the controversy. “I don’t pay attention to negative stuff,” she said in the interview. “I have so much good stuff going on in my life right now that I try not to pay attention.” To give you an idea of the highlights, Sweetin is rehearsing for her upcoming debut on Dancing with the Stars, excited about the renewal of Fuller House for Season 2, and has scored tickets to Hamilton. She’s doing just fine.
Cyrus has yet to respond to the criticism, although she did post an Instagram for International Women’s Day, calling all women “tacky AF.”
