Chrisley Knows Best star Todd Chrisley took to Instagram to reveal some sad news about his family, and the bizarre reason why his sister-in-law, Pamela, has been arrested.

Taking to Instagram, Chrisley posted a mug shot of Pamela, along with the caption, “Arrest warrant 2016A3720500028 harassment 2nd degree. Arrest warrant 2016A3720500027 blackmail and Extortion. Folks, today is a sad day for our family , if you notice this individual shares our last name and is married to my brother Randy , Pamela has been involved in a scheme with other individuals in GA and SC to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars from our family because my brother filed for divorce from her , our family has endured this harassment for many months and had to stay quite [sic] to let law enforcement from two states to do their job , today is the first day of many to come and additional charges but our family will persevere and move forward together , we are at peace now that we know who has been behind this tragic situation and ask for your prayers and support for healing at this time.”

Fans have reacted to the post with utter shock and disbelief.

“We all got people we.wish didn’t know,” colemichelle44 wrote. “Get her off the streets so she can never this to anyone else.” [sic]
According to Fox Carolina, Pamela had threatened to sell a story to the National Enquirer that would reportedly hurt the Chrisley name unless they paid her hush money.
However, Pamela denies any involvement in an extortion scam, and according to her attorney, Delane Rosemond, she was stunned when she was issued an arrest warrant.
“These salacious allegations of extortion of monies from a family that is involved in reality TV known as Chrisley Knows Best unfortunately has [sic] permeated Oconee County… As you may know, the ratings for the Chrisley’s reality TV show has [sic] dropped tremendously over the last couple of viewing seasons, and this is simply a ploy to increase their ratings,” Rosemond said in a statement, according to the publication.
Pamela is reportedly filing for divorce, and plans to sue for $1 million in a defamation lawsuit against the Chrisley family, according to the lawyer’s statement.
