If you’re anAmerican Horror Story fan, you know that one of the scariest aspects of watching this show is how you’re going to cope with the crazy-long hiatus between seasons. The anthology series, which revamps itself every year with brand new characters, stories and settings, wrapped up its fifth season, American Horror Story: Hotel, in January, but the new season likely won’t debut until October. While we still have no idea what Season 6 could be about, creator Ryan Murphy teased to Entertainment Weekly what we could see on the new series. We hope creepy kids give you nightmares, because according to Murphy, American Horror Story Season 6 will feature children.

Though the theme of Season 6 of American Horror Story has yet to be selected, Murphy has stated that the team is currently deciding between two ideas and both of them heavily feature kids. Since the anthology series already borrows from the craziest American horror lore out there, here are just a few ideas as to how children could come into play on the brand new season.
We could see the return of the vampire children
American Horror Story: Hotel showed Alex inadvertently creating a horde of blood-sucking vampire children. Though the kids were seemingly all killed by the end of the season, there’s a chance that at least one of them escaped to wreak havoc on Los Angeles in future seasons. We already know that every season of American Horror Story connects, and this could be one way to solidify the relationship between Season 5 and Season 6.

A Halloween situation could occur
American Horror Story features plenty of killers, but what if next season features a killer who is just a little bit smaller than the rest? Slasher film Halloween gave the world Michael Meyers, who started his murder spree as a child, and it would make a lot of sense for Murphy to pay homage to a movie that kept horror fans up at night.
It could borrow from Children of the Corn
The vampire children from Season 5 have nothing on the kids from the 1984 horror flick, which is based on a short story by Stephen King. In this story, the children of a small farm town are compelled by a demonic force to kill the townspeople in order to ensure a plentiful corn harvest. The scariest part is that these kids look so innocent — until they pick up a steak knife. Totally nightmare-inducing and definitely a plot point Murphy could borrow.

It could borrow from creepy memes of today
Though the rumors that American Horror Story‘s sixth season would revolve around the Slender Man lore were reportedly false, that doesn’t mean a different kind of online lore couldn’t come into play. Slender Man, a photoshopped meme, has become infamous over the years, and the legend took a scary turn when two friends attacked another girl in order to “protect” themselves from the Slender Man. The Slender Man legend might not come into play on American Horror Story, but a different, perhaps fictionalized, meme just might.
