We get a peek into the family life of new parents Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald in an extended clip from tonight’s Jill & Jessa: Counting On, with all the trimmings, from diapers to date nights. The couple, who are parents to 4-month-old Spurgeon, share their new parent problems, such as overpacking a diaper bag and dragging a crying newborn to date night. (With 18 siblings, you would think Jessa would be able to find a babysitter.)
The couple is sweetly overenthusiastic about taking Spurgeon for a two-hour journey out of the house.
“We’ve been out, and we haven’t had diapers, and that’s not fun,” says Jessa. “If we need an extra outfit, how about two, three extra outfits,” laughs Ben.

The family emphasizes the importance of their quality time. According to Jinger, Jessa and Ben used to go out on dates every day. The couple is trying to get back to that routine, says Ben: “Jess and I would try to have pretty regular date nights before the baby was born. Now that the baby’s born, we’re going to have to make more of a conscious effort to say, ‘Hey, let’s go out on a date together.'”
