Joe Giudice turned himself in for his 41-month prison sentence today, and his daughters are already feeling his absence. Oldest daughter Gia posted a photo to her Instagram of the two of them with the caption “always and forever,” which brought the whole situation back into perspective.

More: Teresa and Joe Giudice’s sentencing pushed back
The teenager has had to deal with a lot in the past year, with both of her parents having to serve time in prison. She has stayed strong and managed to keep a happy face online, posting numerous photos of her with her parents, but it’s hard to imagine that this is easy for anyone in the family.
Both Teresa and Joe were found guilty of the crimes they committed and should be held responsible for those actions. There’s no way around that. And it’s hard for people not to be curious about the details of their lives, especially since the Giudices have been sharing their lives on The Real Housewives of New Jersey for years. But the reality of what’s going on really sets in when you look at their daughters, how young they are and start to remember that this is a family and not actors on a show.

Luckily for the girls, Gia, 15, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 10, and Audriana, 6, they will have Teresa there to support them and help them through this time. They also have a big group of family and friends to lean on, and the comments in all of her posts so far have been overwhelmingly positive, which is usually rare for celebrities involved in legal trouble. Regardless of all the support, though, they will still be dealing with the fact that their dad is in prison and will be there for the next three years.

Hopefully this will only make their family stronger and Gia will continue to remain close with her dad.
