Ariel Winter is all about women supporting women, and she made her views very clear during an interview with Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O, where she applauded Kim Kardashian for encouraging body positivity.

“I think she’s promoting body positivity. You know, young girls being able to express that they don’t have a stick-thin body — they’re curvy,” Winter said.
This is not the first time Winter has defended Kardashian’s decision to flaunt her curves, and when she recently decided to post a nude bathroom mirror selfie, Winter praised her, and publicly commented on how women and men should be able to choose what they do with their bodies. A sentiment that Winter touched on again during her interview.
“Stick-thin bodies are amazing, you know, those girls are amazing, too, but I think that everybody’s body would be celebrated no matter what it is, and I think that it’s great that she’s so comfortable with herself and that she’s able to post out there what she wants to and post and if she wants to post a nude selfie, she can,” she said.

Winter also highlighted the gross double standard that exists between men and women, and how the former can flaunt their bodies without criticism, but women are not afforded the same respect.
“When women do it, we’re really crucified, and we’re not able to do the exact same thing, and I think it’s really upsetting to be in an industry where that’s happening, so I really decided to stand up for her because I thought it was so ridiculous,” Winter explained. “You know, it’s not hurting anybody at all, if somebody doesn’t like the post, they can unfollow them. There’s no reason to go on and publicly bash them, and I think, you know, she’s promoting positivity instead of being a bad role model.”

She makes an important point. While no one is asking you to praise women for their nude selfies, there is also no reason to bash someone for what is essentially their decision. Do you agree?
