More: 12 Harry Potter facts that will blow your kid’s mind
J.K. Rowling was in the mood to share on Twitter on Monday, revealing her favourite character from the Harry Potter series.
We think her answer is one that a lot of Potterheads will agree with.
Clue: He’s a wizard.
Give us a drum roll please…
It’s Albus Dumbledore!

And Rowling really doesn’t need to go into much detail because we can all come up with many reasons why Dumbledore is, indeed, the best Harry Potter character.

A 2011 poll of 70,000 Harry Potter fans saw Dumbledore ranking only 8th in the list, behind Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Luna Lovegood and Ginny Weasley. Sirius Black was 3rd, Hermione Granger 2nd and Severus Snape took the top spot.
In terms of complexity of character and emotional depth, it’s no surprise that potions master, Head of Slytherin and Death Eater Snape ranks so highly. But Dumbledore deserves just as much love. Apart from being a wizarding boss, he’s unorthodox, funny and flexible. He knows everything. And there’s much more to him than meets the eye. He has flaws and made grave mistakes in his past.
Fans of the sherbet lemon-loving wizard will be excited to hear a mention of him in the new teaser trailer for Rowling’s Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne and Colin Farrell. Could the young Albus Dumbledore have a role?
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them hits cinemas this November.
