Teen Mom is filled with catfights and drama, so it’s surprising to see two of the most controversial stars, Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans, posing for pictures together.

Surprising, but not unwelcome, as it was great to see the two women supporting each other when they stepped out on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. Evans took to Instagram to share a photo of both women looking glamorous, along with the simple caption, “@farrah__abraham @mtv #MTVMovieAwards.”

However, the backlash over the photo has been horrible. Commenters have ripped apart the Teen Mom stars, especially Teen Mom OG Farrah Abraham, with insults about her being “fake” and overdoing the plastic surgery.
“Farrah looks so fake,” ilianaaaaagarciaaa wrote.
“They really both need to stop with the botox and plastic surgery! They dont [sic] even look human anymore!” lemaybear shared.
“Omg Farrah looks ridiculous,” jaylynndossantos shared.

“Farrah is really starting to look a little crazy,” mlouwho86 wrote. “I don’t like her attitude one bit, but she was such a pretty girl before all the surgery.”
Comments like these are so disappointing, because neither Abraham nor Evans deserves the hate, especially not over their appearance.
Yes, both are controversial stars who have made more than their fair share of mistakes in the past, and yes, the image that Abraham portrays in the media is not always positive. In fact, she can come across as disrespectful and spiteful, but do any of these commenters truly know her?

More than that, the energy that it is taking hundreds of commenters to bash Abraham could be used in a much more constructive way. No one is saying you have to be a fan of Abraham or that she’s the world’s greatest role model, but as women, we should represent the role models we want to see in the world. And instead of criticizing people based on their appearance, we could be looking for the positives in the photograph: Both women have cleaned up well, they look happy and healthy, they’ve let bygones be bygones and are instead supporting each other.
Imagine how powerful it would be if we put aside all the pettiness, and instead of shaming one another, we opted to either support each other, or simply look the other way and not perpetuate the hate.
