Meghan Trainor has come a long way when it comes to loving her body.

“A couple of years ago, you’d never see me in a dress,” she tells Seventeen magazine in its most recent issue, where she graces the cover. “And now I want to sha-zoom me. I mean, I want it tight. I want to show off what I got!”
As a singer who got famous for loving her bass (or her booty) in song form, Trainor reveals that it was a long road to learning to even accept, let alone celebrate, her curves.
“For a good six years, I wore sweatpants and sweatshirts, even on vacation in 90-degree weather— I was hiding,” she says. “In pictures, you can just see my face, like ‘Help.'”

Looking back now, there’s only one thing she wants to say to her insecure teenage self.
“I want to hug that girl,” she says. “I want to tell her, ‘You’re OK.'”
These days, though, Trainor loves the skin she’s in… and so do a lot of other people. She admits that her first hit song, “All About That Bass,” came with unintended side effects.
“A lot of people want to grab my butt ’cause they’re like, ‘Oh, the bass,'” she says. “They ask, and I’m like ‘Yeah, no thanks.”
Still, given the chance, Trainor admits there are some celeb butts she’d like to grab.
“I just wanna know what J.Lo’s butt feels like because it’s the most famous butt of all time,” she says. “As for a guy, Leonardo DiCaprio’s. I’m obsessed with him, and I think that would be amazing.”
