Andi Dorfman has pretty awful things to say about her time on The Bachelor

Andi Dorfman was a fan favorite when she appeared on The Bachelor Season 18. Her mature ways and straight-talking attitude endeared her to fans across the world, but it turns out she wasn’t as big a fan of the experience as we were of her time on it.

In fact, Dorfman has gone so far as to say that while on the show, she was left telling herself that it was one of the stupidest things she’s been a part of.

“I remember standing in the rose ceremony room, it’s 4:30 in the morning at this point, it’s freezing cold, everyone is cold and nervous standing on these risers, and you could hear the teeth chattering and the deep breaths,” Dorfman said during an interview with Cosmopolitan. “And I watch Juan Pablo [Galavis] come in with a stack of roses, and I’m thinking, This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever been a part of. I’m standing here cold, my feet hurt and I’m waiting for a dude I don’t know to give me a rose.”

Dorfman also told the publication that going on the show in the first place was a pretty naïve move, and she had no idea how reality TVreally worked.

“I was so naïve. I had never really watched the show before. I knew about it, of course — my friends watched — but I couldn’t tell you any of the major storylines or anything. So I was just naïve enough to say, ‘This could be fun,'” she confessed. “I had no idea that I would be mic’d up the entire time, no idea that there would be 20 cameras at any given point… I was so sheltered, which was interesting because I didn’t come out of a sheltered, naïve world, especially with the job I was doing at the time [working as an attorney in Atlanta’s gang unit]. But yeah, reality television got me. Reality TV: 1; me: 0.”

Of course, we shouldn’t really be all that surprised at Dorfman’s comments, as there was no love lost between her and former Bachelor Galavis — something she made perfectly clear while on the show. What is surprising, however, is that after such a negative experience she decided to return in a second attempt to find love with The Bachelorette Season 10.

Although her second time on a reality TV show was a bit more pleasant, Dorfman says it took her “a while to look back on it fondly,” adding, “I definitely didn’t during the breakup, and even when I was still in the relationship, when things weren’t good, I didn’t look at it fondly.” But she does credit the show for making her feel like she was “one of the luckiest girls in the world.”

As we all know, while on the show she found love with Josh Murray, but it wasn’t to be, and when the couple chose to part ways in January 2015, fans everywhere cried and grabbed for the wine bottle — and they weren’t the only ones.

According to Dorfman, getting over her breakup can be partially credited to wine.

“First of all, wine. I’m not gonna lie,” she said of how she attempted to overcome her pain. “And my friends, my family, and the move to New York. After we broke up, I had no boyfriend, no job, no apartment and so really nothing to lose. Coming to New York and getting lost in the city, I was like, ‘Wait… No. 26 who?’ That would be my advice for people going through a tough breakup. A lot of times, people will say, ‘You’re running away from your problems.’ So what? Why do you have to sit there and confront every single issue? Sometimes going away is the best answer.”

Some very wise words from Dorfman, but did we expect anything else?
