We bet Teresa & Joe Giudice would get a spinoff show if Joe were deported

The Real Housewives of New Jerseystar Joe Giudice still has 41 months left in prison, but his life may not return to normal when he gets released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix. Joe has lived in the United States since he was a baby, but he was born in Italy and never became a U.S. citizen. Because he retained his Italian citizenship, he may get deported to Italy once his sentence is complete.

“I’m not even worried about that as far as that goes,” he commented to People. “That, we’ll worry about when I get out.”

Joe talked about the possibility that his family would relocate on an episode of the family’s RHONJ spinoff The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, filmed this summer in between Teresa’s prison sentence and his own.

When his attorney James J. Leonard Jr. broached the subject of deportation, Joe said Teresa and their four daughters would relocate to Italy if necessary.

Giudice — whose parents and siblings are American citizens — elaborated: “I consider myself an American.” While The Real Housewives of Rome does have a nice ring to it, we imagine it would be a lot of translation work for Bravo, not to mention a true nightmare for the Giudice family. At least we could see more of Teresa in the kitchen!
