Things are heating up on the set of Fifty Shades Darker, but unfortunately for Dakota Johnson, that’s bad news. The actress is featured in the newest issue of Interview Magazine and admitted that full days of acting out sex scenes are not as exciting as people might think.

Part of the problem? “Well, we’re not having actual sex,” Johnson said. In the movie, she plays Anastasia Steele, the main character in the film adaptation of E.L. James’ insanely popular book series. She also said, “I’ve been simulating sex for seven hours straight right now, and I’m over it.”
You might think that she has a point, but when you take a look at her costar, Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey, she starts to lose her credibility.

Despite the grueling work she’s putting in on set, she has put a strict ban on her parents seeing the film. When asked whether or not she’d allow her dad, Don Johnson, see the film, she was very clear that that would never happen. She said, “No! God, no. Thank God.”
Back when Fifty Shades of Grey, the first film in the series, premiered, Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffith, talked about how impossible it would be to watch her daughter act in these movies. She explained to USA Today last year, “Would you want to see your child having sex like that? Just regular sex, I couldn’t even do that, but the ‘room of pain’ sex? I definitely couldn’t do that!”
The biggest takeaways from Johnson’s interview were that even though she’s completely out of touch with what is a real work problem to complain about and what is a gift, she does have a grasp on normal parental boundaries.
I have a feeling it will all be worth it when the movie is released and it becomes a huge success just like the last one.
