Kim Richards could see the inside of a jail cell over her drunken night at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Richards originally avoided jail by accepting a plea deal that included three years’ probation, attendance at 52 Alcoholics Anonymous classes, and 30 days of community labor. But sources told TMZ that Richards has been unable to provide documented proof that she has performed any reasonable amount of that.
A bench warrant was issued for Richards’ arrest by a Los Angeles Country judge today for her failure to present any proof — but a rep for the reality star later showed up in court, conceding that Richards doesn’t have any proof. Despite this, the judge withdrew the bench warrant, although Richards could still go to jail after the hearing if the judge determines that she is not meeting the terms of her deal.
A source close to Richards said that they fear the situation is actually pretty dire.
“Kim has not been coming at all to the meetings in West Hollywood for quite some time. She used to attend daily,” an insider told Radar Online.
“Her friends and sober family started to worry about her when she stopped returning people’s phone calls several months ago. Eventually, her recovery friends just gave up. It works if you work it, and she clearly did not want to do the work.”
Richards, who is currently appearing on The Mother/Daughter Experiment with her daughter Kimberly Jackson, was arrested last spring for public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery of a police officer after a drunken evening at the bar in the Beverly Hills Hotel got a bit out of control. She faces two years in jail if she violates her probation.
