Beyoncé partied the night away alone at the Met Gala — where was Jay Z?

Beyoncé didn’t just make a statement at the Met Gala with her gown or her post-party appearance with rumored Becky Rita Ora — it was the person who was missing from her side that raised the most eyebrows.

Bey walked the red carpet solo, basically wearing a gown made of Becky’s skin and teeth, and her hubby was nowhere to be found. Obviously, the first thing people are thinking is that it’s yet another sign that the couple is finally dunzo, despite the fact that he was seen dancing with their daughter Blue Ivy backstage at one of Bey’s concerts last week.

So what gives? Was he afraid of another beat down by Solange? Didn’t want to risk any run-ins with various Beckys? A source said the reason is actually pretty plain and simple: He just didn’t want to go, period.

“He’s done it before,” an insider told Us Weekly. “There’s just no big reason for him to go.”

Uh-huh. That answers exactly nothing. But whatevs, Queen Bey had a great time without him. After the main event, she changed out of her Becky skin suit and into a simple black tank and silver sequined high-waisted pants and totally got her party on.

First stop: Balmain and Oliver Rousteing’s post-Gala party held at Gilded Lily in NYC’s Meatpacking District, where she arrived with her bodyguard and stylist and was joined by Solange and was seen mingling with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Later, Beyoncé headed over to Up and Down in the West Village and got her boogie on.

Maybe they just couldn’t get a sitter?
