RHOD‘s LeeAnne Locken is Bravo’s biggest villain

A few RHOD fans appreciate LeeAnne Locken’s poise and sense of style, but she’s otherwise by far the least popular of the show’s regulars. That’s saying something, because a lot of people also take issue with Locken’s nemesis, Brandi Redmond. Still, say what you want about Redmond (and her incessant poop jokes), she does have one or two redeeming qualities. Meanwhile, the redeeming qualities seem far and few between for Locken, who has quickly become RHOD‘s chief villain.

It’s no secret that Locken is the bad girl on The Real Housewives of Dallas, but her tantrum during tonight’s episode made me wonder if perhaps the newest addition to the Real Housewives lineup features the meanest, least likable villain yet. That would be quite the accomplishment, because Bravo has a knack for creating reality stars we all love to hate. But at this exact moment, it’s hard to imagine finding someone more difficult to root for than LeeAnn Locken. Who else begins their reality television tenure by shoving cameras out of the way, throwing glasses and insulting gals from Plano? A lot of stars have ramped up the drama quickly over the years, but none so quickly as Locken.

All this bitterness from Locken makes me wonder: Given how much footage Bravo captures, why hasn’t RHOD managed to showcase something, anything, good about the reality star? Even the biggest, baddest Real Housewives offer some quality that gets at least a few viewers on their side. A prime example? Kenya Moore. She is as manipulative as can be and, yet, there’s something amusing about the shade she throws and, of course, all that twirling. Locken, on the other hand, is just bossy and mean, but not in a funny way.

RHOD has all the makings of a great reality show, but I think it would be way better if Locken was a bit more complex. At this point, she’s a comic book villain and definitely not a well-rounded reality star. I find it difficult to believe that she’s truly as bad as the show makes out. Is she really that terrible or has she wholeheartedly embraced the villain role that Bravo has selected for her? Hopefully, by the time the first reunion arrives, there will be a little more depth to this very unlikable reality star.
