Tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones reminded us all that Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) doesn’t need her dragons by her side to play one hell of a trump card.

The girl just keeps getting better and better with age.
Of course, this episode also featured some glorious throwbacks to her days with Khal Drogo. Not only did she reference his many, vast plans as Khal with her by his side, but she reminded us that she’s the Mother of Dragons for a reason. And the dragons didn’t even need to be in the episode.
Rather, Daenerys took on all the Khals on her own after they tried to banish her to a life with the dosh khaleen — and then changed their plans to simply rape and murder her. Needless to say, we didn’t feel so bad when she set them ablaze.
How many times is it going to take for Daenerys to absolutely own people before word gets out that this chick just shouldn’t be messed with?
At least one more time, it seems, because Daenerys sent the Khals to a fiery grave and walked out naked and splendid for all the Dothraki to witness. And witness they did — right before falling to their knees in a sign of fealty. Looks like Daenerys has just acquired herself a new army.

Plus, with Tyrion off saving Meereen, Daenerys is going to have enough strongholds to barrel through Westeros and not look back.
If only her dragons would start behaving.
As Vox points out, in the books, Dany’s resistance to fire seems to be a one-time thing. She walked through Khal Drogo’s funeral pyre and emerged with her dragon babies, and that was it — though, to be fair, the question of her fire resistance hasn’t been given a definitive answer, and there are still more books to come.
But the show is clearly taking a different course than the books, making it clear that Daenerys’ title as Mother of Dragons means she also has some gifts inherent in the species.
Oh, and Game of Thrones is officially adding one more title to Daenerys’ already lengthy list. She is now The Unburnt as well as Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons.

Try saying that 10 times fast. Or, instead, just bask in the amazingness that is Daenerys’ badassery. If only dragons were real. *sigh*
Do you think Daenerys’ action against the Khals was her most badass moment yet?
