Don’t worry, Joe Jackson is still alive enough to send out some snarky tweets

Don’t write off Joe Jackson just yet.

Jackson took to Twitter to address rumors that hit headlines earlier in the week saying he is hospitalized and on his deathbed.

In reality, Jackson, who is the father of Michael and Janet Jackson, went to the hospital for a routine check-up and was admitted due to a fever.

Jackson tweeted a photo of himself Thursday looking happy and healthy on a deck in a tropical locale, captioned, “I am 100% Alive.” The tweet also included a link to his website, where he had posted a blog post to further deny the claims that he is deathly ill.

“The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Please ignore all the stupid false rumors from people who seem to find humor in such topics,” he wrote, signed “Joseph Jackson, Patriarch of the Jackson Music Family.”

Jackson’s son Jermaine admitted Wednesday that although the family was worried about 87-year-old Joe’s health, he had improved greatly overnight.

My father is doing much better,” Jermaine said. “We were all worried but he’s doing much better, he’s much healthier and we’re very happy about that.”

He continued, “He got weak and they rushed him… he was doing a normal check-up and he got weak and they admitted him. He came for a check-up at his doctor’s and they put him in the hospital. The way we got the news he was not doing well.”

Last August, Jackson was hospitalized in Brazil, reportedly after taking three Viagra and suffering a stroke and multiple heart attacks on his 87th birthday.

He’s much better. All of his vital signs are great and we’re very happy,” Jermaine Jackson said this week. “He’s just tired. He’s 87. We’re just trying to hold onto him as much as we can.”
