Now that Chicago P.D. Season 3 is officially wrapped, what does Season 4 have in store for viewers? Well, I think it’s safe to say that after Voight’s major decision (spoilers ahead!) at the end of the finale in which the head of intelligence murdered the man who ultimately killed his son, Justin, and now that Brian Geraghty will not return as Sean Roman, a lot of changes are ahead.

But what about the series’ beloved couple, Linstead? Will their relationship still be a focus? You bet it will, but don’t expect any fast moves, like the two getting married anytime soon.
According to P.D.‘s executive producer Matt Olmstead, there’s a lot ahead for Lindsay and Halstead, especially when it comes to taking the next step in their relationship. As teased in Season 3, the two are looking to move into together. Olmstead told TV Line, “We want to have them move in together and just play the baby steps of what it’s like to live with someone [for] two very independent people who have always done their own thing.”

He also said that they’d like to see them together more, which is great for their shippers. In my opinion, the more Linstead, the better. Based on the end results of the Season 3 finale, Voight’s actions had a serious effect on Lindsay, so I can only imagine that her relationship with Halstead will be the bit of happiness she’ll need to cope with what Voight did. Olmstead also told TV Line, “[During] some heavier aspects of the show, specifically what Voight did and what’s going to happen with Voight, we’re going to play a little bit of the sun breaking through the clouds here, and that’s going to be those two kicking the tires and moving in together.”
Now that they are becoming more serious and taking their relationship to the next level, will fans still get those skinstead (you can thank the fandom for coining that term) scenes? When P.D. star Jesse Lee Soffer (Halstead) opened up to Us Weekly about Season 3, he said, “Linstead is going strong. If you are a big Linstead supporter, I think now until the end of the season there might be some skinstead, if you follow what I’m saying. It’s going to get steamy.”
Basically, both Linstead and skinstead don’t seem to going anywhere anytime soon. Who else is ready for Season 4?
