Trouble loves Dustin Diamond — after one month free, he’s back in jail

And he was doing so well, too. According to the AP, it’s time for ’80s kids to lose hope yet again because Saved by the Bell‘s Dustin Diamond is back in jail. He’s violated the terms of his parole in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. There’s no information on what, exactly, led to the probation violation, so it’s time to be as imaginative as Screech was in thinking of all the ways a parolee could break the law.

Diamond was recently released from prison after serving time for disorderly conduct and possession of a concealed weapon. After the barroom fight — in which he stabbed another man — he was sentenced to four months in prison and released this April.

Diamond sat down with his former Saved by the Bell co-star Mario Lopez earlier this month to explain the circumstances that led to the fight, which took place on Christmas Day. “I had my pocket knife like this… and the blade was right here and the guy came from around me and grabbed my throat, and so he nicked his arm on the tip of it — it was a Band-Aid, the most expensive Band-Aid I’ve ever bought.”

He spoke of wanting to turn over a new leaf, telling Lopez, “I want to put the tomfoolery and malarkey behind me… for that clean slate. Time for a change.” OK, maybe now is the time for a clean slate.
