From a tribute to a fallen legend to some pretty epic throwbacks, this week in pop culture was all about revisiting the past.
Here’s a look at what you might have missed if you weren’t paying attention.
1. BET throws major shade at Madonna’s Prince tribute

Madonna did her thing at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, but — despite an awesome appearance by Stevie Wonder — not everyone was feeling it.

In a now-deleted tweet, BET posted a promo for their Prince tribute at their upcoming awards with the caption, “Yeah, we saw that. Don’t worry. We Got You.” Ouch.
Madonna’s response was pretty graceful, however.

2. Ariana Grande‘s Dangerous Woman album drops
The video for Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” single hit YouTube a couple months ago, but this week she officially launched the whole deluxe album to rave reviews.
Dangerous Woman is available for download here.
3. Invisibilia hits the iTunes podcast charts — without any new episodes

NPR’s Invisibilia podcast hit No. 5 on the iTunes charts this week, without even releasing any episodes. The podcast (which is about the invisible forces that control human behavior — ideas, beliefs, assumptions and emotions) released a trailer for a new season and apparently got people scrambling to listen to old episodes.
You can catch up with Invisibilia by downloading old episodes here, or stream it here.
4. Girl Meets World kicks it old school
Oh the feels! The nostalgia of Girl Meets World throwing their opening credits back to the original Boy Meets World opening is almost too much for us to handle.
5. The Last Star hits bookshelves

Fans of Rick Yancey’s 5th Wave series were delighted when the finale, The Last Star, was released this week. The science fiction masterpiece finally reveals the fate of Earth’s remaining survivors.
You can buy a hard copy of The Last Starhere, or it’s available for download here.
6. Justin Bieber disses fan

So, supposedly the above viral video is of Bieber throwing a gift from a fan on the ground because it hit him in the face when the fan threw it in the car window.
We kinda feel bad for both Bieber and the fan — it seems like an innocent misunderstanding — but, sorry, does anyone else think this is hilarious? The Biebs is so over it.

7. Elijah Wood talks about pedophilia in Hollywood
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Wood got candid about the evil underbelly of Hollywood and the occurrence of pedophilia. He didn’t name any names and later clarified that he did not experience any of the aforementioned pedophilia firsthand.
“Let me be clear: This subject of child abuse is an important one that should be discussed and properly investigated,” Wood said, via The New York Times. “But as I made absolutely clear to the writer, I have no firsthand experience or observation of the topic, so I cannot speak with any authority beyond articles I have read and films I have seen.”

Corey Feldman, on the other hand, claims to have firsthand experience and felt compelled to talk about it after hearing of Wood’s interview. Feldman spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the abuse both he and fellow child actor Corey Haim endured when they were young. He said he would love to name names, but couldn’t because of California’s statute of limitations.
“Because if I were to go and mention anybody’s name, I would be the one that would be in legal problems and I’m the one that would be sued,” Feldman said to THR.
8. Insane water bottle flip goes viral
OK, it’s not that insane. It’s not insane at all, in fact. But this high school senior’s classmates seem to think it’s the best thing ever, and their reaction is pretty hilarious.
9. Candace Cameron Bure performs “Ice Ice Baby”
All right, stop. Collaborate and listen. Candace Cameron Bure is back with her brand-new invention. From her success on The View to the return of Full House, 2016 is definitely the year of Bure.
10. Beauty and the Beast‘s first look comes out
It’s the tale as old as time that never fails to excite us. Is anyone else as amped as we are for the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast to hit big screens?
11. Spelling bee kid is brutal AF
The Scripps National Spelling Bee ended in a tie with 11-year-old Nihar Saireddy Janga and 13-year-old Jairam Jagadeesh Hathwar taking home the top honor — and we just learned that spelling bees are as competitive as professional football.
We gotta give it up for Hathwar, because he stuck it out through Janga’s stone-cold razzing. We’re declaring Janga the Justin Bieber of the spelling bee world.
