In the latest in a series of sad updates to their divorce news, sources have confirmed that not only did Johnny Depp abuse Amber Heard, he attempted to bribe her to block her from filing a domestic violence restraining order against him.
An insider spoke to People, which is now claiming that Depp “offered [Heard] money to make it go away.” Heard filed the restraining order on Monday regardless. She submitted a photo of herself with a bruise over one eye as evidence, leading the court to grant her a temporary restraining order in which Depp has to stay at least 100 feet away.

People‘s source claims that the abuse has gone on throughout their 15-month marriage. “Prior incidents were worse,” says the insider. “This was only the latest incident.”
Heard filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences.

Depp’s representatives gave a statement on Tuesday reminding everyone that Depp’s marriage to Heard was short. It read: “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.” Does “short” equal “OK to be abusive”? This is only going to get more intense and emotional, and it looks like neither side will play nice.
