Mark Salling, best known for his role as Puck on Glee, has been charged with a federal indictment for receiving and possessing child pornography. According to E!, court documents revealed that his personal computer allegedly contained “thousands of images and videos of child pornography.”

Salling faces two counts of child pornography, including an alleged flash drive that includes images of a minor under the age of 12. If convicted, he will serve a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
In a statement on the case, U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker stresses the impact of child pornography. Simply put, it creates a black market for images of children committing sexual acts: “Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed. Young victims are harmed every time an image is generated, every time it is distributed, and every time it is viewed.”

Salling was first arrested in December after the Los Angeles Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit searched his home and seized his personal computer, on which the images in question were found.
Salling previously settled a lawsuit to the tune of $2.7 million brought against him by former girlfriend Roxanne Gorzela. She accused him of sexual battery, and Salling termed it a “fraudulent lawsuit,” but he still settled out of court.
