According to In Touch Weekly, Cruise hasn’t seen his daughter Suri, now 10, in more than two years. What’s more, sources claim Cruise hasn’t even spoken to Suri on the phone since she was 7.

“They used to Skype and text, but that trailed off drastically,” an insider said.

Cruise and Suri’s mother, Katie Holmes, divorced in 2012 after five years together. Holmes retained custody of Suri after the split, and Cruise’s involvement in his daughter’s life reportedly ceased soon after. According to In Touch Weekly, Cruise “uses his film commitments as an excuse.”

But sources say the distance between Cruise and Suri has less to do with his busy schedule and more to do with his commitment to Scientology. The religion encourages its members to shun any friends or family members who are critical of Scientology, like Holmes, who has spoken out against the church on multiple occasions.

“Tom eats, breathes and sleeps Scientology,” a source said about Cruise. “He’s disconnected from Katie, and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie. He hasn’t seen her since she was 7.”

The reported lack of a relationship with Suri comes after Cruise primarily raised his two other kids, 23-year-old Isabella and 21-year-old Connor, after he split with their mother, Nicole Kidman, in 2001.

Holmes, however, has been described as an amazing mom by family insiders, and frequently posts photos of Suri on her social media accounts. Holmes and Suri were also spotted out together in New York City on Suri’s 10th birthday last month, while Cruise was in London shooting The Mummy.
