Maybe I’ve been watching too much UnREAL or maybe Bachelorette life really is that terrifying. If we’re judging solely based on Chad’s antics during Season 12 of The Bachelorette so far, I’m going to go ahead and guess the latter.

I mean, guys like this just can’t be real right? Right?!
He’s blustering around, threatening the other guys every chance he gets to the point that the show needs a security guard in the house yet they don’t send him home? Um, this sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Aside from the liability to the show, in the past, if guys got violent with other guys, they were out whether the bachelorette liked it or not. Not that women should ever like violence against other human beings… just sayin’.
Anyway, given all of the above, I can’t help but think that the show is either cleverly editing Chad to appear worse than he really is or Chad is playing up his antics in order to get more screen time and the show is simply loving it. Again, I’m guessing the latter here.
Luckily, JoJo finally caught on to Chad’s crazy side. It just took her longer than I would have hoped because either she’s that ignorant or because it makes for better TV the longer Chad sticks around. I’m not even going to do JoJo the disservice of telling you I think this one’s the latter point.

“I just have to ask: Have you threatened anyone in the house?” JoJo asked Chad on their awkward two-on-one date.
“I mean, it’s not 100 percent false,” Chad responded, proving he should never, ever consider a career in politics with that poker face. Good answer, bro.
Cue the flashback to just a few scenes earlier when Chad laid into Jordan. “You think you’re safe for now. One day this ends. And when this ends you go home. And when you go home, you think I can’t find you? You think I won’t go out of my way to come to your house? I’m dead fucking serious.”
Remember in Season 11 during the premiere when contestant Ryan M. decided to make some super inappropriate rape jokes? He got the boot so quickly and rightfully so. It seems to me that Chad deserves the same. I would say threatening to kill contestants to the point that security is needed and drunken rape jokes are solid disqualifying offenses.

I know JoJo finally told Chad to pack his bags, but from the look of the preview, he isn’t giving up just yet. Really? Maybe finally producers will get the hint and intervene in the right way. Bye, bye Chad.
Do you agree Bachelorette producers should have stepped in and sent Chad home long before JoJo’s two-on-one date?
