Johnny Depp is in the middle of a potentially costly divorce, but it’s not just his personal life that’s undergoing some major changes: So is his art collection.

Depp will be auctioning off his Jean-Michel Basquiat art collection. Worth millions and acquired over 25 years, Depp has surprisingly decided to say goodbye to the works, which, according to Entertainment Tonight, he previously stated in a Basquiat biography that, “Nothing can replace the warmth and immediacy of Basquiat’s poetry, or the absolute questions and truths that he delivered.”

According to Christie’s auction house, they will be showing a “time-capsule group of nine works by Jean-Michel Basquiat from the collection of the celebrated actor, producer and musician Johnny Depp. This carefully curated selection of Basquiat paintings and drawings attests to Depp’s understanding and engagement with one of the most acclaimed icons of 20th-century painting.”

It’s unlikely that Depp’s decision has anything to do with his bitter split from wife, Amber Heard (even though we’re sure comparisons will be drawn between his decision to get rid of his art and the fact that Heard is requesting spousal support), because according to the auction’s press release, Depp has been “in dialogue” with the auction house since the beginning of the year.

Depp’s collection will go on sale at the Christie’s auction house on King Street in London, England, on June 29 and June 30 — so if you want to get your hands on something that once belonged to Depp, here’s your chance.
