Sarah Palin is ‘stratospherically happy’ for newlywed Bristol Palin

Hold up — Bristol Palin is married?

More: That wasn’t an engagement ring on Bristol Palin’s finger — she’s actually married

In the surprise move of the century, Bristol wed her ex-(?)boyfriend Dakota Meyer this week in a ceremony no one saw coming. And after they exchanged their vows, Sarah Palin took to Facebook to congratulate her daughter and new son-in-law.

“All our families’ hearts are filled with love for Dakota, Bristol, Tripp, and Sailor Grace,” Palin wrote alongside a picture of the lovebirds on their honeymoon. “It’s been a rewarding and interesting ride this past year – but these two sure do love an adventure! As their biggest supporters, we’re stratospherically happy it’s happened, amidst running a little late! Like they said, the foundation of their new life together is built with hard work and God’s grace, so they can’t go wrong – their future is as bright as Alaska’s midnight sun.”

“Stratospherically happy?” How many times did she consult a thesaurus to write this?

Weird language aside, the sentiment of the message is pretty sweet, and it’s nice that Bristol and Meyer seem to have found a happy ending after the very bumpy road that has been their relationship. They were engaged and set to get married over Memorial Day weekend last year, but called it off at the last minute just before Bristol announced she was pregnant. Even after the baby’s birth, no one publicly confirmed who the father was, though finally, we learned it was Meyer.

Bristol revealed that she was married earlier this week during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be,” she said. “We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!”

She continued, “Hard work and God’s grace are the foundation of our new life together, and with the love and support of our family we know we can get through anything.”
